July 1st marked the end of a historic era. Nearly 64 years after its founding, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) concludes a mission that uplifted lives and rebuilt communities.
Born from the vision of a man who believed in international solidarity, USAID became a global force for peace, development, and human dignity. Those of us who knew its work feel sadness — but above all, gratitude.
Thank you, USAID, for:
✅ Saving lives and responding to disasters.
✅ Strengthening community resilience.
✅ Fighting hunger and disease.
✅ Protecting the most vulnerable.
✅ Advancing education, health, and jobs.
✅ Empowering youth and women.
✅ Defending democracy and human rights.
✅ Supporting transparency and social justice.
✅ Fostering innovation, inclusion, and sustainability.
✅ Walking with nations toward self-reliance.
In Latin America, we witnessed the lasting impact of your work.
🙏 Thank you for everything. Thank you for believing in people.
